In an attempt to lure tourists from GCC countries to Kenya, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) in association with Kenya Airways has launched ‘Choose Kenya’, a three-month long marketing campaign.
The campaign aimed at travel agents and tour operators, who sell Kenya, was launched on May 31 by Kenya‘s Consul General to Dubai Mr. Kariuki Mugwe. “We are inviting the travel trade to showcase the authentic safari experience, pristine beaches, the warmth of the Kenyan people, rich culture and much more to their clients,” Mugwe said.
According to him Kenya remains a first choice tourism destination for many and hence he encouraged the travel trade to continue marketing Kenya as preferred tourism destination.
During the fifth edition of Magical Kenya travel expo six of the successful sellers would be given a luxury product knowledge tour to Kenya in October. The annual Wildebeest Migration in Masai Mara also coincides with the high season and attracts thousands of tourists.
The campaign will run on all social media platforms, selected trade magazines and targeted databases all over the GCC region.
“Our campaign will run from 1st June to 31st August 2015 and winners will be announced in September, 2015. This is one of the ways of ensuring that Kenya as a destination remains top of mind among the travelers from the GCC countries,” says KTB Managing Director Muriithi Ndegwa.
Ndegwa said the campaign is a follow-up of the successful launch of the Magical Kenya online training program for the travel agents introduced December last year and it targets operators in the Qatar, Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and UAE markets.
He said the ‘Choose Kenya’ campaign is part of Kenya’s efforts to make a mark to amongst tourists travel experiences by pushing Kenya’s tourism product through the deliberate efforts of the travel trade.
